I was born in Minneapolis, MN to a Korean mother and an American father of French and Irish descent. In the 6th grade I decided to become an actress and since no one objected, I did. Once I finished high school, I said goodbye to smell of hotdishes and kimchi and headed to the east coast. There I attended Boston University College of Fine Arts where I majored in acting. Then I spent about 5 years in New York City working as a professional actress (and sometime cocktail waitress). I had a few great theatre experiences during that time which incited me to seek more training, and become more involved in the international theatre community.
Recently, I graduated from the American Repertory Theatre/Moscow Art Theatre School Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting. During our three-month residency in Russia, I fell in love with Moscow and its vibrant theatre scene. I was particularly taken by the physicality of the actors, their fearlessness, and their cohesiveness as an ensemble.

My Fulbright year will be spent in Moscow at the Schukin Theatre School and the Moscow Art Theatre School, where I will continue my studies in the Russian theatre tradition. I hope to deepen my understanding of the Stanislavski System, and further explore the system of movement created specifically for the actor.

When I am not being artsy fartsy I like to travel, drink really cold dirty martinis, dance argentine tango, and consume large amounts of chocolate.
