Ksenia Mankowska

As her Fulbright project, Ksenia Mankowska is conducting research at the St. Petersburg State University on whether the cooperation between regional and local governments and the population in implementing the housing sector reforms (especially the process of forming homeowner's associations) has the potential to form a basis for a civil society in Russia's cities.

Ksenia has grown up in Belmont, Massachusetts. She has graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in May, 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Russian.

Ksenia has developed her interest in local governance and civil society through her experiences in working Massachusetts State Legislature and in political campaigns. Following the completion of the Fulbright project, Ksenia will continue to study Comparative Politics at the graduate level with a focus on the development of local governance in the post-Soviet countries.
