Nadya Peterson

I am an Associate Professor of Russian Language and Literature at Hunter College (City University of New York) in New York City where I have lived and worked for the last six years. I am planning to work on current reforms in Russian education.
I am particularly interested in the way teaching of literature in high schools has changed. Originally, I am from Riga, Latvia but have lived in the United States (different places) for close to thirty years now.

My doctorate is from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. I have two daughters and my older daughter just had a baby boy (whom I will miss terribly when in Russia). In addition to literature I am very interested in film and the theater and hope to catch up on the latest developments in all of those areas
