Robert Rhyne

As a Fulbright Scholar Robert Rhyne, MD, is teaching Family Medicine and Evidence-Based Medicine at the L.N. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and performing research through the American International Health Alliance, both of which are located in Moscow, Russia. He will be
researching “barriers to change in the Russian Health Care System”. He is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community
Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, where he has served on the faculty since 1984. He received his MD from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1977, completed a residency in Family Medicine at Duke University in 1980 and a fellowship in clinical epidemiology (Evidence-Based Medicine) as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1983, under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Fletcher. His hobbies include hiking and camping, downhill skiing, Japanese-style karate, traveling, Russian literature and history.
