Karen Evans-Romaine

Karen Evans-Romaine is Associate Professor of Russian at Ohio University and Director of the Middlebury Russian School. At Ohio University she teaches courses in Russian language, literature, and culture.

During her nine months as a Fulbright Scholar on a lecture/research grant (2006-07), Evans-Romaine will be teaching courses in Music and Literature of the Modernist Era and American Culture through Literature and Film, as well as advanced English, at Smolny College in St. Petersburg. She will conduct research on Boris Pasternak, Heinrich Heine, and images of the Romantic-era musician to complete one long-term project; she also hopes to lay the groundwork for a new project on Marina Tsvetaeva and German Romantic literature and culture.
