Sergei Zhuravlev

Sergei Vladimirovich Zhuravlev, Doctor of Science (2000), Leading Researcher at the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. Was born in 1960, graduated from the Moscow Institite for History and Archives (1984), post-graduate studies in the Russian State University for the Humanities (Ph.D. in 1989). Field - Soviet social history and historical sources schience. Author and co-author of books: "Ich bitte um Arbeit in der Sowjetunion. Das Schicksal deutscher Facharbeiter im Moscau der 30er Jahre" (Ch. Links Verlag, Berlin, 2003), "Malen'kie liudi i bol'shaja istoria: Inostrantsy Moskovskogo Elektrozavoda v sovetskom obschestve 1920- 1930kh gg." (Moscow, 2000) , "Stalinism as a Way of Life: A Narrative in Documents (Yale University Press, 2000), "Obschestvo i vlast': 1930-ie gody. Povestvovanie v documentakh" (Moscow, 1998), "Golos naroda. Pis'ma i otkliki riadovykh sovetskikh grazhdan o sobytijah 1918- 1932 gg."(Moscow, 1997),"Fenomen Istorii fabrik i zavodov" (Moscow, 1997). Married, has 2 doughters.
As Fulbright-Kennan program participant aims to study emigration from the USA to post-revolutionary Russia andStalin purges towards Americans in the 1930s. Would appreciate any info or assistance in connection with above mentioned subject,
