Meredith Redlin

Meredith Redlin is an Associate Professor of Sociology at South Dakota State University. She received her bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her Masters of Arts degree was in interdisciplinary studies and was awarded from Hamline University, also in St. Paul. She received her doctorate from the University of Kentucky, Lexington in Sociology, with emphases in Social Theory and Rural Studies.

She has researched widely in the areas of Rural Studies, Race Class and Gender, and Community Development structures. She has extensive teaching experience, working with both undergraduate and graduate students. Internationally, she coordinates the SDSU summer internship program with the INP schools of Toulouse, France, and has worked with graduate students in France and Jordan.

This is her first experience in Russia. As a Fulbright awardee, she will teach at Udmurt State University in Izhevsk in the faculty of Sociology and Philosophy. As part of her work, she will collaborate with undergraduate students on gender research and development frameworks in the region.
