Dr. Igor Tyukhov has been in solar energy and ecology doing research on photovoltaics for more than 25 years. Starting his activity as a
student, postgraduate-student of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI), Dr. Tyukhov continues teaching at the MPEI as a lecturer to the present time with one year away for work at George Mason University as a visiting scholar (1999-2000). In 1997 Dr. Tyukhov took part in organizing an UNESCO Chair “Renewable Energy and Rural Electrification” at the All-Russian Research Institute for Electrification of Agriculture. As the Deputy Chair he is responsible for research and educational activity in clean renewable energy, including international demonstration projects. He is author of more than 80 scientific papers and patents on generating electricity using environmentally clean solar technologies for sustainable development of humankind. His main research goal is making heat and electricity directly from sunlight using concentrator systems.
