At Moscow State University's Faculty of Journalism, I will teach courses in documentary history and production as well as a survey course in American autobiographies.

I received my Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 2004 and immediately became a staff member at the Shoah Foundation, located at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Founded by Steven Spielberg, the Shoah Foundation collected video testimonies from nearly 52,000 survivors and witnesses of the
Holocaust and World War Two. The organization became a part of the
University of Southern California in 2006 as the new USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education. The Institute has made 11 documentaries, including one currently in production in the Ukraine, as well as numerous educational products.

I am a filmmaker and my documentary Marion's Triumph aired in 2004 on many PBS stations across the country and on the History Channel abroad. An upbeat story about a Holocaust survivor, this documentary speaks to a younger generation about the dangers and consequences of intolerance. It won an award from the American Library Association in 2004.

My first documentary, Whatever! was acquired for national broadcast on the PBS network in 1999. In 2002, this film was selected by the Museum of TV and Radio (of New York and Los Angeles) for inclusion in its permanent viewing collection.

Part of my dissertation, focusing on the cross cultural reinterpretation of horror, was recently published in Asian Cinema (Vol. 16, No.2).

Previously, I was a Senior Writer at Ogilvy Public Relations, part of the WPP Group, one of the world's biggest advertising and publicity companies.

Having worked in both the business world and in academia, I am looking forward to teaching in an economically vibrant new Moscow.
