I studied Russian and linguistics as an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, College Park, and then earned a master's in library and information science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I've recently begun working as an electronic publishing librarian at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
In Moscow I'll learn about and share my experiences with digital library initiatives, as well as traditional library services, at the Rudomino Library for Foreign Literature, the State Public Historical Library, and the Fundamental Digital Library of Russian Literature and Folklore, a joint project of the Gorky Institute of World Literature and the Informregistr Center for Scientific Research and Development. I'll also brush up on my Russian at the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
In this photo I'm immitating Testudo, the mascot of the University of Maryland, behind his back. I hope he doesn't find this photo and beat me up.
I have a fetish for linguistic reference works.
