My name is Victor Panin, I am from Pyatigorsk – a health resort center located in the North Caucasus. I have Ph.D. degree in Philosophy of Politics from the Rostov State University and Master degree in Linguistics from the Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University. I am the professor of political studies of the Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University and the director of the Center for the North Caucasus Studies of this university. I am 45 years old. The field of my scientific interests is geopolitics, foreign policy, conflict management, Middle Eastern studies, Russian-American relations, Caucasus studies. I have 45 publications with two of them published in the USA, the most recent one is the book “Evolution and Strategy of the Policy of Russia and America in the Middle East” planned to be published by the end of summer 2003. Besides 2003 Fulbright Program I participated in the 1998 Regional Scholar Exchange Program and in 1994 Summer Institute in American Political System. My host institution is Harvard University Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. My Fulbright Program project title is “Strategic Perspectives of the Caucasus”.
