Rena Faye Norby
Dr. Rena Faye Norby is a Fulbright Scholar planning to teach Instructional Technology at the Saratov Pedagogical Institute. She has been teaching Computer Technology, Physical Science, and Physics at the Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD, for the last 7 years, as well as working with the design and implementation of the on-line MSCI degree in Technology Education at BHSU. Before her experiences at Black Hills State, she taught Physics and Computer Science in Laramie, Wyoming, and Atlanta, Georgia. She is very excited about the opportunity to be a Fulbright Scholar and to represent the United States as a professor and researcher, as well as the opportunity to learn about the Russian academic community and pre-university school systems in Saratov. She plans to visit schools and observe teaching, and to research the status of technology in instruction in Russian schools.
She earned the B.A. in Physics from Emory University in Atlanta, the M.S. in Physics from Georgia State University, and the M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Science Education from Georgia State University. Prior to becoming a teacher, she was a computer programmer at Control Data Corporation, and a research scientist in physics at Georgia Tech.
